A lot of the time I am busy designing patterns and I never get to see where they end up. Other than the obvious places like on custom wallpaper orders, my own projects or on commissioned dresses, my designs go off on their own little journeys and I just have to kiss them goodbye and wish them well.
I do get licensing royalties when people buy my fabric or wallpaper (yay!) but the next step of tagging me in photoshoots or products is not as common as you might expect. I've stumbled across some of my designs in London Boutique Fashion Stores (a little thrill for me!) but, understandably, they would rather keep their sources secret. So when Shannon from Prints Clothing (find her on Instagram here) tagged me in her latest clothing range where she has a stunning little two piece in my Retro Luxe Lilies (gold) print - it made me SUPER DUPER happy. In fact, my partner had to tell me to stop showing him because he'd seen it already. But honestly, it REALLY made my day and TRULY did make my heart sing. Seeing where my 'babies' end up is one sure way to make my heart sing.
Check out what she made with my fabric! And that pink wall - what a perfect backdrop for a photoshoot!
I think the button-back detail on this top is inspired. Plus pink buttons - talk about perfection!
Funnily enough this print is clearly my favourite at the moment because we've also just used it as a wallpaper in our bedroom as well . For this project I printed three four-foot lengths of it so that it was exactly the right size for a feature headboard. I chose the same bright gold retro luxe lilies design because our room is on the Southern side of our house and needed more colour to feel brighter. And it really is such a bright and happy-making print. Don't you think so too?
And so it is, with a singing heart, that I see where my designs end up.
And with a singing heart, this is where we now get to sleep every night. The retro luxe lily vibes are certainly happy making! And whilst it is SO nice to use my own prints in our own home, it is SO nice to see where they end up in the big wide happy bright world too. So thanks to Prints Clothing for choosing my work and for sharing it with me. X
